A Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach is the gold standard for diagnosis and treatment of cancer

The medical oncologists are committed to a multidisciplinary approach that ensures your patient receives the highest quality care and that their needs are met in the most comprehensive and coordinated way possible. Lismore Base Hospital Multidisciplinary Team meetings include  medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, general practitioners and other healthcare professionals who work together to develop and implement individualised treatment plans for each patient.

Your patients may be discussed at one of the following MDT meetings at Lismore Base Hospital:

  • Breast Cancer MDT meeting:
    Held every Wednesday morning
  • Colorectal MDT meeting:
    Held every second Thursday morning
  • Lung MDT meeting:
    Held every second Wednesday
  • Oncology Case Conference (Melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies) and Education MDT meeting:
    Held every other Thursday
  • Urology MDT meeting:
    Held every second Thursday in the month
